Cheaper Solar Panels

Solar Panel prices are constantly dropping. The technology is changing, the methods are changing, and there are more companies making them. All of these things bring the prices down. However, in the economy like this one it can still be difficult to come up with the initial investment to have solar panels installed on your home.

The problem is that the solar panels for salehttp://www.cheapsolarpanelsforsale.com/ coupled with installation costs are still too expensive. So what can you do if you really want solar panels? Do it yourself. There are a lot of cool programs available on the net that will show you how to buy parts and turn them into solar panels. More details at the link below.

Tinting your windows with solar panels

When I was in my late teens I really wanted to tint my car windows. I wanted to reduce the temperature in the car on a sunny day, but more than that I wanted to look cool.

Well, now thanks to the work of a German company, Heliatek as well as a few companies working on the same type of technology, your house can "look cool" and make solar power at the same time. They use organic cells to generate electricity while at the same time tinting your windows. You can find more on the new solar panels here: http://cleantechnica.com/2012/04/19/organic-solar-cells-tinted-windows/.

Pretty cool huh? Cool in an energy saving smart way.

Chile From Fossil to Solar Power

In comparison to the US, Chile is much smaller when it comes to GDP and even the number of people. However, they are also making a large push to make more renewable energy. Chile relies heavily on hydro-electric and has to import the majority of the remaining power they need. They are making a large push to use renewable resources like solar panels to make themselves more self reliant and environmentally friendly.

Making the Switch to Solar Power

If you are looking at getting rid of your electric bill and powering your home with solar panels there is a lot to think about. There are a lot of reasons to change to solar power (better for environment, get rid of energy bill, get paid by the power company, etc), but what are the actual reasons that people are making the switch. So below is a list of the top 5 reasons that people switch to solar. It might just make you take the plunge and setup your house for solar.

Obama promotes Solar Panels

Nevada gets 320 days of sunshine a year. That's quite a lot and it can all be put to good use. Obama recently made a trip there to speak about the large solar panel plants that are currently powering 17,000 homes. They are currently working on two more plants in the same location and several more around the country.

Solar Jackets For Kindle

It's about time. Solar Panels have started becoming more and more popular in about the last five years or so. The prices are dropping substantially and we are seeing a lot of new solar panels for sale on the market. However, I was surprised to see that we still weren't seeing much in the way of basic electronics. Yes, there were a few such items available, but nothing was really mainstream.

Well now there is a solar Jacket available for the Kindle. Pretty cool for those who can't get access to power. The biggest problem is that it is priced at $80. Hopefully that will be coming down soon.

solar panel kits

So you don't think you have enough money to install a solar panel system on your home or maybe you just aren't sure. Well one thing you can do is to start small. There are a number of solar panels kits for sale that aren't too expensive and will allow you to get part of the power and "test" it out. You will find that you can get a basica simple for pretty cheap.

Check out the video below to see how this guy installed his own solar panel system.

3-D Solar Panels

One of the limiting factors for solar panels has been the limiting amount of energy that solar panels can collect. Well, now something that has made it's way into the TV world may soon be making it's way into the Solar Panel World. No, I'm not talking about HD or Blue-Ray. I am talking about 3D. Researchers at MIT started experimenting with putting solar panels in unconventional shapes and found that they could produce up to 20 times as much energy in the same space using this new configuration.
